About

Tina Drakeford has been teaching and playing professionally for over 20 years.  She was classically trained in the Royal Conservatory of Music style, has a B.Ed and is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT).  Tina has taught music privately since 1999 and in schools since 2006.  Her students have ranged in age from five years old up to 74 years old.  Her students have gone on to play all genres of music from classical, to pop, to church music, and everything in between.

When you register for lessons at Piano By Tina, Tina will meet with you to design a music instruction plan crafted specifically for you and your goals.  Together, you will choose the method that will create the foundation for your success and set benchmarks so that you can see your progress as you hit your goals.

After meeting, you will receive a copy of your personalized music instruction plan that will be reviewed regularly and can be updated or changed as you meet goals or as your needs change.

Methods that you may be considered at your consultation include:

  • The Royal Conservatory of Music program and exam preparation

  • Alfred's later beginner or adult piano courses

  • Individually paced instruction on chords and melody lines for improvisation

  • A combination of methods designed for your goals and needs
